SBBS: Day 23 ~ Jus Accardo

Spring Break Blog Spectacular ~ Jus Accardo interview and ebook giveaway

Jus Accardo is today's SBBS guest! Her first book, the first in a series, Touch was published by Entangled Publishing this past November. Untouched, a novella came out March 28th, Touched will be re-released in mass market paperback in June and Toxic the second (full length) book will be out in September. Thank you Jus for joining us today :-)

Interview:

Ideal spring break destination: ski chalet or tropical beach villa?
I'm probably going to get screamed at for this, but I hate the beach. I'm not a fan of summer (I'd rather be cold than warm) so it would totally be the ski chalet. Now, keep in mind that I've been restricted from ever attempting to ski due to my not-so-graceful ability to simply walk down the street, but I'd still wanna go. And spiked hot chocolate? Um, yes please!

In high school/college which was more likely spotting you on MTV’s Spring Break or just you and your friends enjoying the week off?
Secretly I always wanted to hit the MTV scene. They always looked like they were having so much fun! But I was always the one chilling at home.

What was your favorite Spring Break ever (where and/or why)? Or if you didn't go on spring break trips, where did you always want to go?
I never did the official spring break thing, but I always wanted to do a Disney trip. I might not like the heat, but for Micky, I'd deal ;)

Fly and have the fun be at the destination or road trip and have the journey be at least half the fun?
Road trip a thousand times over. Forgetting the fact that I'm terrified to fly, road trips are AWESOME. Goofy conversation, tons of tunes, and sightseeing. What could be better?

Do/would any of your characters take Spring Break trips?
Dez is totally the spring break type. She's all about the party fun! I can see her dancing poolside, living it up.

Where would their ideal Spring Break destination be? (Together or on their own.)
Knowing Dez, it would be someplace tropical. Hawaii possibly... Any excuse to wear a bathing suit.

Which of your characters (in anything upcoming you have) would you most have liked to have met on a Spring Break trip?
I would have loved to meet Dez. She's just got this enthusiasm for life that kind of infects everyone around her. And, ya know, I wouldn't have minded meeting a hottie like Kale... :D

Best book to read on Spring Break or a road trip?
I read Kelley Armstrong's Bitten on a road trip and it is one of my favorite books of all time.

Touch, the first novel in the Denazen series, is set to re-release in mass market on June 12th (Complete with additional scenes from Kale’s POV!).

About Touch:
When a strange boy tumbles down a river embankment and lands at her feet, seventeen-year-old adrenaline junkie Deznee Cross snatches the opportunity to piss off her father by bringing the mysterious hottie with ice blue eyes home.

Except there’s something off with Kale. He wears her shoes in the shower, is overly fascinated with things like DVDs and vases, and acts like she’ll turn to dust if he touches her. It’s not until Dez’s father shows up, wielding a gun and knowing more about Kale than he should, that Dez realizes there’s more to this boy—and her father’s “law firm”—than she realized.

Kale has been a prisoner of Denazen Corporation—an organization devoted to collecting “special” kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons—his entire life. And, oh yeah, his touch? It kills. The two team up with a group of rogue Sixes hellbent on taking down Denazen before they’re caught and her father discovers the biggest secret of all. A secret Dez has spent her life keeping safe.

A secret Kale will kill to protect.

and just released at the end of March was Untouched :
About Untouched (A Denazen Novella 1.5):
Until he met Dez, Kale’s days were filled with violence and death. He was used as a weapon of destruction by the power hungry men of Denazen. He’s a Six. A person with an abnormal ability. Some people call them gifts, but not Kale. Kale’s touch means instant death.

But now there’s Dez, the girl he can touch, and they’re hunting down Sixes and warning them about Denazen. Kale is learning about the world outside captivity and trying to put his dark past behind him. But they underestimated how badly Denazen wanted him back.

When Dez sacrifices herself to save the new Six they’d rescued from falling into the corp’s hands, Kale is lost. Denazen has brought out its best to get the job done. Samsen, a nightmare from Kale’s past—the only person he’s ever truly feared—has come for them, and it soon becomes obvious he has his own twisted agenda.

Kale will need all his training to get Dez back and ensure they make it out, free—and alive. But will it be enough?

  1. My favorite right now is Daimon by Jennifer Armentrout. It was the perfect lead in and I think it's very necessary to the complete story.

  2. Summer's Crossing by Julie Kagawa<3 I loved how it was a short story yet it was enough for a huge twist to occur near the end :) It felt more like a real novel to me! LOVED it<3
